North Sunderland Parish Council Chairman Geoffrey Steward presided over the official opening and naming of the new strategic footpath linking Seahouses and Bamburgh on Sunday 18 August.
Geoffrey was joined by representatives of the Bamburgh Parish Council, local parish councillors, the current and former Bamburgh District Councillors, the Parish Clerk of North Sunderland, and a variety of local people.
The brief ceremony saw the footpath officially named by Dennis Robertson a local resident and prominent walker. Dennis honoured us by officially giving it the name chosen by the children of Seahouses primary school. It is to be called ‘Puffin Way’.
